HELP PAY OFF THE MASJID’S QARDH HASANAH BY THE END OF RAMADAN
- TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR OUR MASJID!
The TIC Masjid has been operating from a rented facility for the past 13 years and for the last few years, we have been struggling to keep our doors open.
So last year we decided to make this building we’re currently operating from our permanent home, and by the will of Allah we were able to enter into an interest free purchase contract with the landlord.
The conditions stipulated that we make a down payment of $3 million by the end of 2023.
As we were nearing the deadline of December 29, 2023, we still had $100,000 that we needed to raise.
We were scurrying, calling on all of our past supporters, reaching out to friends, family, community leaders – anyone who could give us even a little support in our time of need as we were just hours away from losing everything that our community had built over the years – all of the experiences, memories, and Dawah work.
Allah reminded us this is His House and He will protect it.
And lo and behold, 847 people came through in our time of need and helped us raise $101,480 in the last 48 hours!
That’s the power of this Ummah.
And Alhamdulillah we were able to successfully make that payment and secure the contract to purchase the building! Allahu Akbar!!
WHAT’S NEXT?
Alhamdulillah, with your support we’ve already achieved incredible milestones. After making the down payment, we made two installments of $600,000 each in 2024. In May 2025, we made the final payment, completing the $1.5 million goal. Allahu Akbar!
The once busiest Islamic and Da’wah centre in the HEART of Canada’s BIGGEST city is now standing as a permanent home for Islam.
To secure this historic purchase without riba, TIC was supported through Qardh Hasanah from generous individuals who placed their trust in us as an amanah. We now share a transparent update on where things stand:
🤝 Total Qardh Hasanah taken: $4,000,000
✅ Already repaid: $1,900,000 (Alhamdulillah!)
🧾 Remaining balance: $2,100,000
⏰Next payment due: $700,000 by the end of Ramadan’ 26

What’s the Story?
Toronto Islamic Centre was established in February 2010.
We started with a mission to offer:
- A dedicated Masjid for Muslim professionals and students in downtown
- A dedicated Da’wah center where Muslims can invite people to Islam
- A dedicated community center for Muslims in the HEART of Toronto
- We started from humble beginnings, with a small community center, no more than 2000 Sq. feet!
- Eventually, we grew VERY quickly. Thousands wanted to be a part of this community.
- Not to mention that interest in Islam was at an all-time high from the general public!
- So, we set up Da’wah booths! And programs for both Muslims and Non-Muslims alike.
- And countless people were able to accept Islam through the TIC volunteers efforts, Alhumdulillah!
- But.. we had many road bumps on the way.
- In March of 2019, TICs center at the time was NOT renewed. We had to move to a new place.
- Due to amazing community support, we united together and found a much bigger building, located in the biggest street in Toronto!
- This had been the dream of the community for many years – to establish a permanent facility for Islam and Muslims in the heart of Canada’s largest city.
- With the Mercy of Allah, and the support from the community, the need has once again been fulfilled.
- But as you saw above, the struggles have continued. We may not be able to stay around.
WHAT DO WE DO AND WHAT SERVICES DO WE OFFER?
We started with a mission to offer:
A dedicated Masjid for Muslim professionals and students in downtown
A dedicated Da’wah center where Muslims can invite people to Islam
A dedicated community center for Muslims in the HEART of Toronto
Our attendees are working professionals and students who work and study downtown.
One thing that stands out about TIC is our vision of being an Islamic community centre AND Da’wah centre! Not only are our doors open to Muslims but our doors have always been open to everyone, from ALL walks of life!
At the moment, Toronto Islamic Centre offers:
OUR FUTURE PLANS
Your generosity will allow us to invest in expansion of our services to the Muslim and Non-Muslim community going forward.
Our plans for the future include:
1. Education programs for new Muslims
2. New Muslim shelters
3. An Islamic school and college
4. Establishing a TV and radio channel for Da’wah
5. A Qur’an research center
6. An Islamic human resource center
7. A sports gym for the youth
8. Janazah Services
We URGENTLY need to raise funds to cover our costs of operating this Masjid. Once we secure this building, we can focus on expanding our range of services.
All we need are a few SPECIAL people chosen by Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to donate what they can to help us keep this House of Allah and Da’wah center open.

We will lose the opportunity to permanently secure this location through an interest free contract. The Landlord can cancel the contract and sell the building.
1. This Masjid is located on the busiest street in Canada and is responsible for Dawah and multiple Shahadas weekly, thanks to the amazing location.
2. We were able to negotiate a Interest Free contract with the seller – Help protect TIC from Riba (Interest).
3. There is no other Masjid in the area, and the community desperately needs a Masjid and Community Centre they can call their own. Thousands of people will no longer have a space to serve them.
